The No-Nasties Philosophy
Truly natural skincare like Tinkerberry, contain no preservatives, whatsoever. We craft our products to be "self-preserving", meaning that the ingredients we use, can protect themselves from harmful bacterias. Even so, some form of care needs to be taken, so that every single drop does its intended duty.
Imagine going to the grocer, and picking up a pack of processed meat. You can expect that crap to last till the zombie apocalypse 'cos it so pumped with preservatives. The pack of green vegetables, on the other hand, needs to be refridgerated the second you get home, and be consumed within the next few days. You dont expect it to stay crisp and green for too long. But, that's what's good for you. Just a little care, and your body will thank you for it.
Here, we have gone through the liberty of helping you practise the "No-Nasties" philosophy yourself. Check this out :
1. The Ingredients list
The saying " The devil's in the details" rings true when it comes to food and skincare. You might wanna pay close attention to the ingredients list, and look out for unpronounceable chemicals. Avoid any and all products that contain Parabens, DEA (diethanolamine), MEA (Monoethanolamine) & TEA (triethanolamine), Polyethylene Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). And please please stay away from products that do not list their ingredients - most likely, they are hiding some nasties.
2. The Order
The order of how ingredients are listed are just as important as the ingredients itself. The ingredients with the highest concentration are listed first. So, if a product claims to have argan oil, check and see if it's the core ingredient (at the top of the list) or just a drop (at the bottom of the list).
3. The Filler Ingredients
Stay away from products that have unnecessary, function-less ingredients that serve only to dilute the product/ reduce the cost for manufacturers/ make the products look and smell good. Filler ingredients include water, petroleum jelly, colours, perfumes, emulsifiers and preservatives.
